Joan Jett to front Nirvana’s performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony tonight? Have we died and gone to heaven?
Drummer Dave Grohl sparked a whole lot of speculation when the Foo Fighters’ Instagram page shared a photo that features Krist Novoselic’s bass, Pat Smear’s Strat, Grohl’s drumkit and what appears to be Jett’s recognizably stickered Melody Maker.
Former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe, a friend of the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, will be on hand to induct the group.
The career of first-time nominee Nirvana will be celebrated along with those of KISS, Linda Ronstadt and Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, Peter Gabriel, Hall & Oates and Cat Stevens during a gala at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
Wowie, wowie. Can’t wait to see this.
